There's a moment on every wedding morning that needs no direction at all: the mother of the bride seeing her daughter fully ready for the first time. Katherine's mum, in her deep green, taking in her girl in lace — I photographed it from across the room with a long lens, close enough to catch it, far enough never to break it.
