The old stone bridge over the White Cart Water — my favourite portrait spot on the whole estate, and some of my favourite frames of Megan and Patrick's day were made standing on it. The balustrades lead the eye straight to the couple, the winter trees make lace of the sky, and the river gives the scene its voice. Every venue has one location that defines it photographically; at Pollok House, this bridge is it.
