Dress on, mum close by, the clock on the wall quietly counting down. The final minutes before heading of to the ceremony have a stillness that the busy morning never does, and the people in the room at that point are always the ones who matter most. I photograph these minutes gently, from the edges, because they don't need direction — they need witnessing. For a family who'd crossed an ocean to be here, moments like this carried extra weight, and the photographs of them travel home as keepsakes. Whoever is beside you when the clock runs down, I'll make sure that's remembered.
