A proper giggle between two bridesmaids during the morning, both still in their blue robes, hair up and ready. This is my favourite kind of getting-ready photograph — nothing arranged, just the two of them caught mid-laugh at something only they'd find funny. Moments like this are where a wedding day really starts to breathe.
It was shot in the natural morning light at the bride's home in Troon, with the window behind them keeping everything soft and true to life. I stayed out of the way and let the moment run, which is usually when the best expressions come — you can't pose a laugh like that.
These early hours set the mood for the whole day ahead, before everyone made their way through to Cottiers in Glasgow for the celebration. Cottiers was a venue I photographed for the first time, and coming in with fresh eyes let me follow the day's energy exactly as it unfolded.
