Grey tweed, white lace and a canopy of red — the colours of an autumn wedding at Brig o' Doon arranging themselves. Couple portraits under trees come with one practical consideration: coloured foliage bounces its tint onto skin, so your photographer needs to know how to balance it. That's a technical detail you'd never think to ask about, and it's the difference between glowing portraits and oddly pink ones. I've made every mistake there is under these maples over the years, which is why I no longer make any. Ten minutes in this corner of the gardens gave their gallery its richest frames.
